SES has two representatives in Thailand, Mr. Chumpol for
the region of Bangkok and Mr. Uwe Konrad in Chiang Mai. Additionally
there is a tight cooperation with NSTDA, National Science
and Technology Agency, in Bangkok. It supports small and medium-sized
enterprises in Thailand and acts for the SES as a client for
own activities and places experts with firms with special
needs of foreign expert-knowledge.
King Mongkuts Institute of Technology North Bangkok
carried out two projects with SES, several activities are
under preparation. Professors of various departments (environmental
control, foodstuff processing, mechanical engineering) support
the faculties with the implementation of new topics.
There has been a very tight collaboration with Chiang
Mai College of Technology for years. Totally seven
experts have been supporting the college in the field of electronics,
automobile development and both analysis and improvement of
curricula. An English-teacher improved the staffs English-skills
to enable them to communicate with colleagues worldwide about
their experiences.
There were carried out two activities directly with Thai
German Institute. A Senior Expert supported the institute
while optimizing of the CNC-technology. By means of an employee
(CIM-Expert) small enterprises of the surrounding area have
been drawn attention to the advantages of a SES-activity.
Thematic focus of SES-activities additionally to those faculties
mentioned above are: chemistry, Electro technique, die- and
mould-making, production of concrete finished part, packaging,
wood processing, plastic processing.
SES partners of activities, are private companies, non-government
organizations (NGOs), government organizations and public
administrations.
Objectives are help people to help themselves, personnel-training
in practice and theory and short-term solutions of technical
problems.
Just a short comment on the costs of the activities: in general
the partners of projects are requested to bear the costs.
The local costs (accommodation, catering, pocket money of
400 Baht per day, laundry care, local transportation) must
always be covered. Concerning the amount of project- and extra-costs
as well as the part of international flight-costs there should
be negotiations with our representatives. They can estimate
the financial strength of the asking partners on the spot
and pass their recommendations on to the head office.
