Summary of Reinhard's talk:
'Expedition Mekong 2002'' was co-organized by the Brooker Group and Diethelm
Travel. The expedition was from November 2nd to 17th 2002. A hovercraft was
used to travel nearly 3,000 km on the Mekong River from Simao Port in Yunnan
to its delta in the southern part of Vietnam.
As the substance of his talk, Reinhard quotes extensively from his "Logbook
of Expedition Mekong 2002", which he had compiled during the journey. The
extracts painted a vivid picture of the first, and perhaps the only, descent
by hovercraft, traversing four countries from start to finish. By turns, a
delightful and harrowing journey, which, for the expedition members I am
sure will remain as one of their most treasured life-memories.
